Oh-kay, this book was good......if I read it a couple years ago. Don't get me wrong, I still find it a good book, but there were times that I felt the pacing was weird, and I just overall wasn't interested. A much younger me would have loved the series with no complaint.

The plot has a very vague direction, and there is primarily only one focus. Which is finding
Call's dad, cuz he stole something.
Idk really.

The characters are almost the same as in the first book, with some advancements in their knowledge, and some new connections etc.

The writing was quite fast paced, with events flying past for the most book, until halfway through the book, where our MCs actually got some some of aim to work towards.

Overall, I liked this book, but I definitely wouldn't have regretted if I didn't picked it. I would recommend to younger readers.

PS. My review is oddly short compared to my usual ones lol.

Okay, the characters are growing on me, and wow, these authors know how to end a book. I was going to quit after two, but now that my 11yo has shamed me by rereading the first 4 in the time it took me to read 2, it's on.

This is so nit-picky, but it's hard to read "Call" and pronounce it in my head as "call" like a phone call, instead of Cal - like pal.

However, I did enjoy the monsters and the creativity of Call and friends getting themselves out of trouble. It's fast-paced, and I like the way the second book is setting up the rest of the series.

I think I liked this better than the first book! So far I loved this series and am very impressed by how the writing reflects the age range while also still being enjoyable for an older audience. This is the first book I have read from either of the authors which makes me curious about how their works are separately. Would 100% suggest this series so far.

I really do like this little middle grade series. There’s action and most importantly there’s great friendships. I am excited to continue

Callum is distraught because he has discovered there's an evil dude inside him and thinks everyone wants to kill him. Will he be able to get the dude out? Will his dad try to kill him?? Will this book be interesting???

Here were some of my thoughts as I read the book:

0%- I read the 1st book awhile ago and have been wanting to read this one since
4%- I apparently don't remember anything from book 1..
27%- Finally, something interesting that's moving the plot
69%- Projected dude just said something interesting that I want to know more about... now he's
gone.. *sigh*
100%- mehh. It was alright but I felt like not much was happening until the climax at the end, which was good.
