Not a favorite, but a good story with some cute moments. Don't like how she tried to be all girlie, but like when Brian finds out what she did.

You know, I never loved Nancy Drew the way I loved Trixie. The Trixie Belden books are kind of like what Nancy Drew would have been like if George was the sleuth and Nancy the sidekick.

This book was really a Scooby-Doo Mystery-lots of mistaken identities and misunderstandings. This one was charming in the relationships between Trixie and her siblings but really did not age well. Lots of racist and sexist dialogues. This was closer to 2.5 Stars, but I did enjoy how hard Trixie worked to make sure her older brother Brian could get his first jalopy.

The fourth book in the Trixie Belden series. This one was a mystery without a mystery as such, which was a bit strange. But, I found it quite in keeping with what you can be like as a kid, and you’re on an adventure, reading a whole lot into very little.
Not a whole lot happened with this one, aside from the introduction of Mr Maypenny to the series. Aside from that, it was a fun read.
