Heaven Is for Real: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back

Great affirmation. Simple story with a lot of meaning behind it.
While I loved the story and hearing the little boy's description of heaven, I was really disappointed overall with the writing. It's written by the dad who happens to be a pastor, and I hated that he had to "validate" everything the boy described by relating to/referencing verses in the bible. This approach just felt hokey to me. In essence, great story, poor storytelling. It was a really quick read, but I felt myself skimming over dad's interpretations to get to the boy's next recollection.
I did enjoy this book for the idea and comfort of Heaven, but I found some of it a bit like bible school. For any of my non-Christian friends they will find it offensive, since you have to have Jesus in your heart to enter Heaven.
I am not sure what to say about this book. It was a fast read. It's only about 175 pages and it reads easily. The reviews I read said this book was inspirational. That it would give one hope for the life after. That it would be a beautiful glimpse into heaven. However, I was haunted by this book in a way that made me not sleep the night after I finished reading. I don't know if I believe this was a glimpse into heaven or not. In fact, I am pretty sure I don't. I am a Christian. I am a conservative Christian. I think the point of this book that haunts me the most is that the boy speaks of glimpsing Satan in heaven. I believe that Christ defeated Satan on Good Friday. Christ descended into hell and won the victory. So, when this boy claims that in heaven, he "sees" Jesus and his army fighting Satan, I'm a little alarmed. The Bible tells me that this has already been done. That battle has been won.
If this was not a real revelation from God, I am fearful of what this is telling me. All-in-all, what scares me most about this book is that it brings me to think that Satan is using even children to do his bidding by placing visions, such as this boy's retold in this book, into little ones' heads in order to lead the rest of humankind away from the truths of Scripture.
But make me think, yes. This book did that. In only 175 pages it was able to make me really think about what the Scripture says about these things. I will take my questions to my Pastor and to other knowledgeable persons in order to gain further clarification in hopes that I can again sleep at night!

Thought it would be hokey but I loved it. A quick and inspirational read.
Read in 2 hours. Good stuff, gives my aching heart a bit of comfort.
My mom gave me this book and I read it in less than a day. It's a fascinating story and a worthwhile read. If you read this (and you should) call me so we can discuss it!
