So worth the read but not to analyze or pick apart, just to appreciate the world from a child's perspective. Their family has a remarkable story to share and does a nice job of telling it...simply. You will fall in love with little Colton!
I was asked to review this audio book for Oasis Audio (I was not required to give a positive review). I have to admit that I was really skeptical about this story of a 4 year old boy who during a life threatening surgery claims to have visited heaven. The story is written in a very engaging way that makes you really want to listen to more, I can fully understand all the emotions that the parents went through during their son's illness and recovery. By the end of the story, I have to say that it is certainly believable! Two things really stood out, the first being the knowledge of meeting his sister who was never born (and whom he didn't even know about) and the second being the recognition of the portrait of Jesus painted by Akiane Kramarkik. A truly interesting book!
This book renewed my faith, my imagination, and my appreciation for the simple wisdom God gives children. I'm now less attached to life on Earth and willing to accept my entrance into Heaven's glory at any time. Meanwhile, I will pray simple prayers to see rainbows, metaphorical and literal, of my own. :)
Young Colton's story of his visit to heaven is here put into simple words that sound like him speaking as one child to another. The book shines with artistry suffused with soft light and an array of color conveying the gentleness, comfort, beauty, and delight of heaven. This book should accompany anyone's reading of the adult version of the story Heaven is for Real (by Colton's dad).
Good book to make you think. Really opened my eyes to some ideas and feelings about heaven that I had never thought of.
Being a preacher's kid isn't alwasy easy, sorry that this 4 yr old endured such pain
This book was amazing. I read it in a day and I have been thinking and talking about it ever since. The story is written very well, events are written in order and it was easy to follow. Whether you believe or not, there are so many interesting things this book has you thinking about. This would be a great book for a book club because it makes for interesting discussion.
