I completely enjoyed listening to this audio book. I thought it was a beautiful and touching story. I enjoyed hearing about Colton's family just as much as his experience in heaven. I appreciated the reminder that heaven is for real and just how much the Lord loves little children. Both I know but am grateful for the reminder.

My feelings are mixed on this book. The thought of the boy having actually seen heaven is beautiful and I was really touched by his account of meeting the miscarried child of his parents. However, Colten's descriptions of heaven seem like a child's vision of heaven (the crowns, thrones, pearly gates and everyone with angel wings). It disturbed me when Colten started freaking out at a funeral because he was worried the dead man may not have known Jesus. He was afraid the man wouldn't get into heaven. I find this hard to believe when there are so many people in the world who have never heard of Jesus. How could they be penalized and not allowed into heaven when they've never had the opportunity to know Jesus?

Very interesting read. really gets me thinking about so many things.

Read this for a book club I was in. I think the boy has now denied it happened (that he saw and communicated with Jesus and several dead family members when he was close to death). I was skeptical and as a new mom, reading about a child who almost died was a bit terrifying.

Interesting

Interesting read.

Very sweet and touching book.

I am pretty much a skeptic about these sorts of things, but this book was interesting, nonetheless. I don't have any reason to not believe it all happened besides just a "feeling" of how odd it is....but it makes a lot of sense and God works in weird ways, so there you go. And I think the straightforward honesty that the dad writes the story actually lends a lot of credibility. Faith like a child...

If I could give this book 3 1/2 stars I would. This book is not really the type of book I flocked too. However, I read about it in the New York Times and then have seen it on the best seller lists for the last 4 months so I thought it would be worth reading. The book was really interesting. Not being very religious, I found I couldn't relate to that aspect of the book, however it inspired me on a spiritual level to believe that there is a place for everyone after death. I would recommend this book.

Not for me.
