I'm a big fan of Winter In Sokcho and The Pachinko Parlour so I had pretty high hopes for this. Luckily it didn't disappoint. The story of a young woman who travels to Siberia to design the costumes for a circus trope as they work on a new death defying stunt. This is a subtle book, with lots of gestures, unspoken feelings and looks. The economical prose conjures a vivid picture of place and character making it an accessible read. It sucked me right in. I'll probably read it again!
