I hope to remember this book for as long as I live. My favorite passages were the last chapter (The Eyes in the Trees) and Orleanna Price's chapter from Sanderling, Georgia. I loved that the eyes in the trees felt like the perspective of Kilanga/Congo/the Forest. The showing of time passage was so beautiful and peaceful in comparison to how long it felt from the view point of the children.
And of course Orleanna's chapter talking about how she ended up marrying Nathan Price was so good I shed a couple tears.
