TBH I did not have an opinion on Union prior to this, of course I have seen Bring It On, but that was about it. After listening to the audiobook, which Union narrates, I would consider myself a fan. She is a great story teller and I really enjoyed this audiobook.

I LOVED this. Absolutely loved. Listen to the audio book read by Union herself. One of the best celebrity memoirs ever, if not the best. Topics include: her upbringing in very white and conservative Pleasanton, CA, with "friends" who thought nothing of saying the "N" word around her all the time; her parents's fraught marriage; her disastrous first marriage after a three-month courtship; the importance of having her own money; her beloved dog Bubba Sparks; being able to recognize mean girls because she used to be one; the detail and care with which Prince would arrange his party guest lists; the close-knit cast of Ten Things I Hate About You, and more. She is smart and thoughtful and brutally honest and unapologetic about her sexuality. And there is SALTY LANGUAGE so if that bothers you, you might want to skip this one. But, oh, you would really be missing out.
