ARC REVIEW

This is so far my most favorite book from the Darkmourn Universe. The story? The plottwists? The characters? LOVE IT! It is also first book from this series which made me cry (and not only once!) and that too I must appreciate.

TRIGGER WARNINGS
This book contains some pretty heavy themes like physical and mental abuse, so if that triggers you, you probably shouldn't read this book. It was hard for me to read it at some parts but Oh my God! When Rhory didn't give up the fight, I fell in love with this book even more!

PLOT
I love Darkmourn Universe, I love every single story set there, but this was something wonderfull, something new. When you're reading you're just making these theories in your mind wondering what is exactly going on. Then when you already know it it breaks you... But don't worry Rhory and Calix will help you with healing that broken heart.

SMUT & ROMANCE
This was spicy... Which honestly I don't mind. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY it was so cute and romantic when the main couple was together! I couldn't stop blushing and hoping for their happy ever after.

I am all for gay retellings of fairytales (I mean we deserve them, don't we?) and Ben is doing some damn good job with it! I just can't wait for the next book in this series.

Amazing storytelling, as usual by this author. Got me on a chokehold until I finished all 520 pages in just a couple days, very addicting.
I like how there's many unexpected developments but some comforting little cliches. Like a hug after everything you believe in crumbles in front of your eyes. But I mean it in a very good way.
Please check trigger warnings, it's fantasy with some gore and dark/heavy topics.
