I love when I read a book and smile the whole way through it. If you're looking for the grovelling this isn't it. Annie has severe anxiety due to trauma she witnessed as a child. It literally rules every part of her life and she is on high alert at all times because everything feels like danger to her. My heart broke for her. Justus was perfect for her. He was besotted with her from the very beginning. His wolf was so silly with her that it just melted my heart. He accidentally boops himself in the soot with a sunflower, which makes her giggle. He likes the sound so much he does it again and again to make her smile. Then he scuffles down to give himself sunflower antenna. If that isn't the most adorable shit ever then I don't know what to tell you. Annie's anxiety makes her push him away and he says some not nice things in hurt and anger. They kind of reject each other. When they reunite he is so careful with her. She slowly begins to relax around him and opens up to him. He's not arrogant or cocky or boastful, he don't even like his pack calling him Alpha (even though he is). He's respected because of his kindness not because of fear. He's soft not weak and he is my favourite part of this book. I just love him.
