What a cracking debut by Gary Wright!
A Parent Apart had me hooked from the first few chapters. When Andrew is persuaded by his daughter and her friend to go to the beach despite the bad weather, he does not foresee what lies ahead. An awful decision and serious repercussions.
After seeing incredible reviews for this book, I was delighted to win Gary's competition and could not wait to get stuck into this book.
Basically if you read this page turner, be prepared for a quick read as you will not be able to put it down. It is fast paced, full of twists and turns and each chapter ended on a cliff-hanger which meant I just had to keep reading.
Congratulations Gary on a brilliant book, I can't wait to read the next one!

First of all, I’m so thankful Gary shared his book with me. I was blown away by this story. It was heartbreaking with a twist in every chapter that I didn’t see coming. It had me sucked in from the very beginning and had a hard time setting it down. The characters and multiple POVs helped get the emotions from everyone involved, and that made it even more intense. Definitely recommend if you enjoy thrillers.

A trip to the beach leads to a tragic accident resulting in the death of a child. The story follows multiple families and investigating police officers whilst they try and unravel the twisted web of lies to get to the truth!
This story is so much more than a thrilling read, it’s a rollercoaster of emotion and every time I thought I knew where it was going, it threw me off into another direction. I felt gripped throughout the whole book and even a bit emosh at times, the ending was incredible!
I can’t thank Gary enough for sending me an e-copy of his debut book, someone get him a publisher!

wow. Where do I even start? This book is everything I love. It was gripping right from the start, the prologue just has you hooked. The storyline is compelling, dark, emotional and all kinds of gripping. I didn't want to put it down, it was so good. You can't help but feel sympathy for each character. It was just drama after drama. It was gripping because it was just PACKED with drama, each chapter kept me needing more!! The twists throughout 😱 omg I'm not over it. Please go check this out if you love thrillers and books packed with drama
