‘I will live to see the day when men no longer fear powerful women.’

That cliffhanger should be criminal.

‘You and I are world eaters. Together, my love, we will bring ruination and rebirth.’

This book started & just did not stop, until almost the end. There was a weird part where we were in the middle of the action & we went into flashbacks while the MC (small spoiler)
got her memories back.
It kind of pulled you away from the immediacy of the moment.

‘One person’s right is another’s wrong. Absolute certainty is the language of fools, and the demagogues who exploit those fools. We are women. We are fallible, all, and welcome of it.’

Otherwise, the book definitely does not suffer from 2nd book syndrome. I binged it in 24 hours, & I'm anxious for book 3 to be released.

‘She had often been accused of being unhinged, but she had some standards.’

I can't really talk about the events without spoiling book 1, but it's queerer than book 1!

‘A serial killer with a cause is still a serial killer.’

Representation: Transgender MC, lesbian MC, wlw relationship

A truly thunderous sequel to an already amazing novel. TSC explores identity, intersectionality, addiction, trauma & survivor's guilt deftly and with an ease which is delightful to read.

I liked this one more than the first because almost in opposition it didn't show friendship betrayed, but love for a friend who has betrayed.  There's still a lot of pain in this book and this is the part of the series i struggle with. but im still desperately awaiting book 3...

The ending just about killed me. I wasn't as into this book as the first, but that ending just gripped me.
