The book involves a group of school friends who years later are still in regular contact until after a pub quiz night of the four friends Susie gets runover.  Eve learns that her other friends were hiding secrets from her.  She tries her best to deal with the funeral and the news that came out after Susie died, dealing with her curt brother and having to go to Edinburgh to try and find Susies Father who has Dementia.

It mostly deals with the loss of Susie and trying to find her Father as well as learning about Susie and her Brothers childhood, but she does get together with someone at the end of the book.
