I am not ashamed to admit that I will forever hold a special place in my heart for superhero novels. So when I saw this book in the library, I was excited to get back to the good old days when I deeply enjoyed books like these.

But I was disappointed. This book is suited for people my age, but I felt really detached from the story line. While the 5 characters were all unique, I had a hard time differentiating the bad guys.

The villains (The 'Vindico') are a secret organisation, that hold a high antagonism for the superheroes (the League).

But the author left out the classic characteristics of a villain, and further reader this novel, the villains didn't seem so bad. The author also added in particular scenes which I thought were very irrelevant to the story, and had completely unrealistic reactions from the 5 kids.

From this book, I'm not so keen on reading the rest of the series.

Good book! The only thing I didn't like was how James never really did anything, he was my favorite character.

Honestly stars in kind of generous but I have been going through alot of terrible books and this wasn't one of them. This book was complicated in an uncomplicated way. When I read it I was wrapped up in the story but when I put it down I didn't have an overwhelming need to continue reading it.

This book had a great deal of comedy, which I excepted, but I did not anticipate questioning what we consider good and evil. Maybe this was me just reading too far into the story but there was alot of different perspectives of the same stories that were told which made you question of the 'heroes' really correct. Maybe their intentions were good and their execution was poor, or maybe the heroes are just douchebags. Maybe the villains are really just misunderstood because their story was never told. Maybe the villains really are the heroes. Or maybe not.

One part of this book that I felt was important was at the end of the book and the main characters were going to get into trouble and one character said that they shouldn't be punished because they were kidnapped, they couldn't control that. Which shows that we will try to pin the blame on someone even if it isn't entirely their fault, always blaming the victim. Another person argues that they did horrible things whilst they were kidnapped, which raises the question if you do something against your will, is it still your fault? If someone is forcing you to do something is the blood on your hands or theirs?

I was very confused however, for a good half of the book what exactly the League of Heroes did and why they were needed and also why the public knew about them. Usually in books with superheroes the general public didn't know much about them, if at all. I felt like there was an explanation of this all in chapter one and then that chapter ended up getting deleted.

I am probably just reading into this too much, but I felt that this book raised some good points about our society and what we believe to be good or bad. It was a very interesting read that many different people could have different takes on.

This book was great!
I loved all of the characters so much, some of them had great lines that left me with a stupid grin on my face! :)
