Absolutely flew through this…reminiscent of a lot of classic dystopia (Hunger Games, Divergent a bit, a splash of GoT) but it still felt very original. The worldbuilding and visuals were so sprawling and well-drawn — this would make a really fantastic TV show. Minus a star for the main character, who I found insufferably arrogant and enamored with his own cleverness, but the side characters are so wonderfully interesting and complex that it doesn’t really matter

Enjoyed this but not wowed with this opening book of the trilogy. Wish we'd had more time in the Red world. The test was interesting but was too long and dragged for me. Will proceed with book 2 to see how things develop.

Dramatized audiobook and some following with ebook is how I read this.

I have mixed feelings on this book. I loved the first 20% or so until he found out the shocking news about the reds, and a little bit into his transformation. I lost most of my interest from 45% to about 90% for the test of the houses we’ll call it.

The end payoff was worth it, I may give the second book a shot someday but I’m not sure.

The 3 stars is more like a 2.75 to me. It was okay, some will love some won’t hard to say. The plus side is it’s faster book. I’ll probably continue the series as many say it gets better but I’m not jumping to it right away either.

I am so mad at myself for not reading/finishing this sooner! This was my third times a charm attempt at Red Rising and it did not disappoint!!

Some of the best action I’ve ever read and one of the craziest sci-fi books— a mix of Enders Game (yes I saw that reference PB!
