i think this volume had a lot of very questionable content. i love Togashi-sensei but it would seem that even he was susceptible to trends/tropes of the time when YYH was first being published.. they did not age well..
similarly to volume 1, there were story beats here that were completely skipped in the anime, and i think it was for the best.
the preview for volume 3 had Hiei! i am excited to move on~

This volume is still setting up the backstory for the future plot but it still contains one of my favorite and most memorable scenes.

Volume 2 is still going strong, with Yusuke Urameshi still completing his trials in the afterlife in hopes of being amongst the living again. A series of tests, followed by some key visits from Koenma, a dash of luck, with some good ol' romance sprinkled in. A good volume, and by the end of it you can tell the series is really about to pick up. I want more!

I also just discovered that the dub is on Hulu--all four seasons! Who's gonna be binging it this weekend?
