This is one of those rare comic book stories that feels to good to be true. Donny Cates masterfully takes Stan Lee's favorite character and creates a beautiful branch on the surfer's tree. Very thankful for a wonderful book like this.

Lots of people have already gone on & on at length about this one - the existential nature of the story, the bold, weird (and unavoidably, it seems, "trippy") artwork, and the strange status quo it seems to retcon and by turns set up for the Surfer. So, I won't. I will only tell you that I very much enjoyed this story, and got more out of it than simple comics enjoyment. I will extoll the virtues of it in person should you buy me a coffee. I will use this space to urge you get the massive Treasury Edition of the collection, because it so much fun to look at, and so satisfyingly put together, that it is absolutely worth it.
