Okay I admit. The mysteries were solid and kept getting better but I'm mostly motivated in continuing this series for the slow burn that is Steph and Morelli's relationship.

Ramos family, Arturo Stolle and his stooges, Mitchell and Habib, Mooner and Dougie. Grandma moves in with Stephanie, and Ranger is in the wind.

Had a lot of fun with Stephanie, as always.

Another silly book....with familiar characters and silly happenings. Stephanie is a mess and the reason I enjoy these books....not much suspense. This time Ranger is accused of carrying out a mob hit and everyone is following Stephanie, in order to track down Ranger. He has her watching people and running errands for him....trying to help him prove his innocence. As usual, she messes up everywhere she turns....and Lulu is still there to add to the disaster.

Read if you need a break from the pile of books on your bedside table.

Ok, I might have to admit I'm a teeny bit addicted to Janet Evanovich kind of humour. When life is a disaster, just dive into Stephanie Plum's life and you'll feel a lot better. No one has more accidents than she does. And, at the same time, I've found myself laughing out loud in the middle of the commuting bus, or having some problems keeping my coffeee while reading.
Also, this might be the book with more sexual tension since the series started. Stephanie is still attracted to Joe Morelli, cop and bad boy in the same flesh and bones, but she's also attracted to Ranger, and Ranger needs her help. He's in the middle of a mob battle and everyone is searching for him, including Joyce Barhnard, Stephanie's arch enemy.
Even though I'm starting to see patterns (two guys following her around, sometimes they are cops, sometimes they are thugs; Granma Mazur with her crazy ideas; FTAs that take a few tries before Stephanie can grab them...) it's still fresh and fun and I might continue reading a few more issues.
