Low 4 stars.

I am immensely intrigued by Sapkowski’s worldbuilding and magic system, but find myself a bit bored by the plot and pacing in this one. I feel as if the narrative could have been better served with fewer viewpoints, maybe switching between Gerralt and Ciri, but that might just be my taste talking. I am excited to read the rest of the series, hoping that the intrigue picks up a lot more in the next few books.
