Would've liked to know what happened at the end but all in all, it was an amazing read and very interesting story of a life. His writing is very effective at transporting you to that moment in time.

A depressing book interspersed with humor. An autobiography written from the time Frank was a child - this is what saves the book for me.
Many Kenyans I think would identify with the abject poverty, the love for the drink even when there is no money and just wanting to make money in any way to just survive.
It broke my heart.

Very depressing subject, and I felt completely irreverent for laughing throughout much of it. Parts are so humorous because it was written from the perspective of the child who doesn't understand the seriousness of his situation. The movie does not do it justice ... read the book instead.

- Obsessed with this book; will not stop yapping about it.
- Will recommend it to literally everyone.

As far as memorials go, this one reads almost like fiction and when you find it out it isn't, it's really surprising. Tough read for content, but well written.
