This was twisty. When it all came together, it felt a little rushed. I didn’t see it coming at all though I can see the clues now that I’ve finished it. This one is hard to explain, for sure.

Wow. Amazing. Honestly what can I say except amazing. From start to finish I was guessing what would the twists would be, some I got, some I got a little later, and some I did not see coming. I’m a way a really sad story but I felt the afterword was a great summary of my feelings for it. And I enjoyed the writing as well, would certainly read something else from the author. Oh and I want to add that I enjoyed the twists did not come out of left field at all, there were bigger and smaller hints all along the way that added up to make sense. So it wasn’t a twist just for the sake of it, it was a part of the story.

Went into this book not knowing anything about this book other than it had a cat. I guessed some twists and taken aback by others. It took time to draw me in, but when it did, I didn't want to stop. I enjoyed the characters and their flaws, particularly how Ted was written. From the beginning I had a soft spot for Ted, and the story kept me torn between seeing him as dangerous or as someone deserving of compassion.
Spoiler:I'm not familiar enough with DID to judge whether it’s represented well. I’ve watched a few videos about it prior to the book, but everyone's experience is very different. I’m just not a fan of mental health being used as a story crutch.

Wow. On the edge of my seat till the end. Certainly not what I thought it would be. Every time I thought I knew what was going on I got slapped with some detail that changed everything.
At first I thought the cat parts were weird but I promise it's important and without giving any spoilers all I can say is hang in there with it.

So I guessed the mayor plot-twists within the first 50 pages or so. There were other reveal that I hadn't considered, but nothing that shocked me in any way.
Still I found this very captivating. I loved the character work, I love the multiple POVs, I love the fact that if the twist(s) did catch you by supprise you can read it again and find man allusions to/confirmations of it. I love the multiple POVs. There was one thing near the end that wasn't my favorite - but definitely a book I will recommend.

I didn't especially enjoy this. I predicted the "twist" within a few chapters of starting. It didn't feel real or even especially compelling.

*audiobook* ... umm so that happened. That was some time of my life that I'll never get back. So, the audiobook was not great. There's POV of a cat & she makes cat noises... which I would not recommend listening to this unmuted (or at all). The twists were more of a nuisance than actually shocking. This just was not for me. Ted having DID was not surprising given the trauma that his mother put him through, but the ending where he really should have died and some random stranger just followed him and then saved him... HUH?? Okay sure sure. THEN how Dee just stumbles in the woods after Ted because she is convinced he has Lulu, mind you WITHOUT calling the cops first. No be so fucking for real because that would not happen - if you suspect someone kidnapped your sister, then call the cops and at least let the authorities know to track you?! THEN of courseeeee she gets bitten by a rattlesnake, but NOPE not when it's alive, but after she kills it and it swings around and then that is how she dies...
