This was so fun! I’ve read quite a few regency era romance / suspense novels and I usually find them so clunky as they go back and forth awkwardly between the suspense and romance. I appreciate that this book mixed those two well. There was equal amounts of romance and suspense and it was done well. The conclusion of the suspense was a bit rushed, but I enjoyed the story and I loved both Sidney and Charity as they fell in love while trying to solve the mystery of Charity’s illness.

Audiobook review

Well, this one surprised me. I didn't get it figured out until just before it was confirmed. Through the entire book, I had 2 main suspects for the villain, and I liked being wrong. The story is well written, the characters are enjoyable, and the audio is decent. It took me a little bit to get into the audio, but once I sped up the pace a bit, it was more enjoyable to my ears.

“To Marry is Madness” picks up quickly as readers meet Sidney and Charity. Charity faces a mysterious illness and happens upon the scandal-wrapped Sidney on an outing with her maid.

Charity quickly realizes Sidney as a kindred spirit in need of a safe space as well. The world they create and protect for one another is electric and beautiful.

This story is full of swoon-worthy moments, electric connection, and an intriguing plot. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Fans of Abigail Wilson, Hannah Linder, and Jody Hedlund would love this G rated story.

the romance was great

I love good banter and this book had some really good banter moments. I enjoyed seeing Charity fall in love. Many times I wished I had been able to know what Sydney was thinking.

I quite enjoyed this! And my suspicions were wrong!! I love being surprised.
My complaints: I wish it seemed to be a longer period of time from start to end. It kinda felt rushed. Granted it was a shorter book.
Also those slight innuendos could have been ignored...

Loved this romance novel! I read it in one sitting. Charity has a lot of health problems and lives alone (well except for her staff of course) so it’s not only dangerous but very scandalous for her to make friends with the handsome Sidney- a supposed murderer. But they both need help and protection and are only able to get it from each other. It was actually quite exciting and even a bit tense at time. The characters were great and it was very romantic. I liked the “supposed scandal” part of the book a lot because it made this one quite different from so many other regency romance type books. The mystery in this was one was really really good. I definitely did not figure it out. The red herrings got me for sure! Highly recommended!
