Flirtatious and charming Makes consent and tenderness sexy and romantic! But full of unspoken insecurities, assumptions, and failure to take people at their word.  Also found a lot of Stella's reactions and thought processes very relatable, even if our specific insecurities and anxieties differ. Seeing elements of myself in a romance made this (and Michael's kindness and respect for boundaries, mostly) even sweeter. I also appreciated how Michael's family being unaccepting was not one of the sources of conflict.

Probably realistic but drives me nuts when two people assume the worst of each other because of how past people made them feel, especially when everything seems to be going well otherwise! I also could do without the aggressive protective jealous instincts.

As lower-rated reviews have suggested, a few things feel shallowly explored or ignored: the weight of blame for Stella's experiences and anxiety being placed on autism instead of people treating her terribly; the belief that she's bad at sex rather than taken advantage of and/or assaulted by prior men; Philip's words and behaviors amounting to workplace sexual harrassment at the very least; and the idea that autism is hereditary and may extend beyond Stella and the singular other character defined to be autistic.

I loved how well-developed the story is and how it touched on a rather sensitive topic like autism that a lot of people (me) don’t have much experience with/don’t really know much about. A POC as the main male character as well as the loose ends all being properly tied by the end of the story was also very much appreciated.

My only problem was that it was a tad too spicy borderline spicy for me at times; definitely NSFW, which is ironic since I read a lot at work.

Not into the “touch her and die” trope but besides that I enjoyed this quite a lot. 4/5 spice

Stella's autism is written more like a flaw that needs to be fixed, when really that's just how she perceives and interacts with the world around her. I had a few issues with the pacing with book, like the immediate jump into sex then it tapers off pretty rapidly the closer you get to the end of the book. It felt like the plot was forgotten about and needed to be rushed to tie up any loose ends.

When Michael and Stella "break up", Stella's decision to break all her routines and do the opposite was confusing as it would cause a breakdown in most autistic people. The irritation of the tags was barely touched on as her time "rebelling" progressed.

The book had promise, but overall felt rushed.

The Kiss Quotient is the first contemporary romance I have read, and I really enjoyed it!

This story is essentially a gender-swapped Pretty Woman, with a more diverse set of lovable characters.

Stella is an econometrician with autism. Michael is serving as an escort to help
pay for his mom's cancer treatment
. Pushed by her mom, Stella hires Michael to help her
learn to be better at sex and relationships
. Seeing their romance develop was incredibly heartwarming for me, and I truly enjoyed this story.

The main criticism I saw before reading was that their relationship felt like insta-love. I would agree with this sentiment, but I did not find it to be bothersome. With this premise, I think it might be a little difficult for the romance to progress without a little insta-love, and thus did not find it to be particularly problematic.

I found this romance to be delightfully unique due to the set of circumstances and diverse cast. I recommend it for any contemporary romance reader!
