I thought this book was so funny and honest about what it’s like to date with autism. I loved Stella so much and loved Michael’s fierce protection of her. I’m not sure if I want to read anymore about them because I love how it ended so much. I don’t want it to be messed up 😂 If anyone can tell me if they’ll be safe in the next two books, lmk!!

This was cute. I love to see an emotionally mature male MC. But the book had way more spicy scenes than I expected, and that's not really for me. Also, for such a sex-positive book I really would've expected us to have moved past the "sexually inexperienced girl gets insta orgasms as soon as hot man looks at her" trope. Finally, my last point can probably be attributed to too much feminist tiktok. But the reason men stop buying underwear in long term relationships is because of women taking on the role of caretaker. Hoang approaches this point when she says, "women like to take care of the people they love." But I think Stella makes too big a leap by equating being the caretaker with loving, and a man allowing caretaking with him loving her back. (In her case, its buying the underwear and Michael wearing them.) Michael doesn't seem to actually subscribe to these beliefs, and honestly it seems Stella doesn't either, so I think this is just trying to connect her math-y job to love, and it's too much of a stretch for me.

I am quite surprised by my 5 star rating. I disliked the first chapter so much, I almost stopped reading. Chapter two was better but I was still on the fence. I'm so glad I kept on. It became a thoroughly enjoyable read with fully fleshed out, bent, broken, and undiscovered, complex characters.
Be aware there are quite a few 'steamy' scenes. I am not usually a fan of awkward or virginal sex scenes. I usually do my best to avoid such content in books, perhaps that is why it took me so long to read this. However they were handled so well and honestly that it made this an enjoyable and insightful read.
