This book was badly written. The characters were one dimensional and predictable. The ‘relationship’ was unrealistic and cliche. And it was almost as if the author didn’t quite realize how unhealthy it was, what with the characters constantly forcing each other to do things and vowing to straight up stalk the other if/when they broke up because of their “obsession.” It felt like reading a badly written AU fanfic of something. (No offense to all the fanfic writers who are really exceptional writers.) The romance scenes took up too much of the book. Overall, it felt almost like reading a gender bent 50 Shades of Grey.

I read this book because it had been on a bunch of recommendation lists, and I knew it was popular because the wait list through the library was quite long, but I honestly don’t know what everyone saw in it and how it got such an overall good rating.
