3.5/4 ⭐️
this was the best backstory i’ve read so far but i do have a few things to nitpick… i’m rating this 3 stars purely because the pacing was terrible and it had no business being 500+ pages long however i am obsessed with hunger games so, automatically i loved it!!

(i’m still so conflicted whether this was 4 stars or 3 stars)

**after watching the film i do wish that they included more about his peers and more about the tributes as seen in the book

suzanne collins the absolute mastermind that u are… feeling like it’s 2012 again and i’m a little girly eating all the hunger games content Up. could not be happier about it

as always, absolutely unmatched world building, immaculate characterization, perfect pacing that keeps u on the edge of ur seat at all times, so much attention put into every tiny detail (a Little heavy handed with all the lucy gray/katniss parallels but most of it is excellently timed and still hits).

once a hunger games girly, always a hunger games girly

I refuse to believe that they were supposed to be high school students. Snow is disgusting and I hated reading from his perspective, but that's kind of the point.

I LOVED the hunger games trilogy, but I found this prequel boring… not for me
