"Just friends"

This series continues to impress me. No, not just impress -- floor me. The relationships continue to develop in wonderful ways - not just between Knigh and Vice, but I really enjoyed getting to see more of the other characters. It's hard to have so many characters in a book, but Sager is able to give each of them a distinct voice and a unique impact on the story. I loved how much UBS explored some of the inner workings of Knigh and Vice. It was so refreshing to see two characters dig into their past wounds and work with each other to heal.

I said this after reading the first book and I'll say it again - THIS is what a pirate story should be. Adventure at sea, monsters and swords and guns, romance, banter and sass, and all the treasure. Sager does an incredible job bringing you into the treasure hunt, experiencing life at sea, and all the fun that comes with pirating!

The ending - first of all, how dare you. Second, oh my gods YES. Incredible. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to cry in a corner until the fourth book is here.

I AM SCREAMING!! That ending has caused me to expire. Wow wow wow best book yet! So much action, tension, LONGING, breathtaking moments, and more! You could cut the sexual tension with a knife and all the Vice and Knigh moments were SO GOOD! And not just the steam; they finally TALK and the therapy sessions were so soul-baring and honest and it made my heart just ache. I love them so much.
But then OMG the last 30% of the book got crazy! Nonstop jaw-dropping action. Absolutely breathless as we raced to that ending. Thank goodness the next book is already out because I’d be losing my mind otherwise!
Y’all gotta read these books!!!
