Great Series! If you like kids with special powers and freaky things that happen this is a good one.

The kids are back with new sets of problems. This time, a plague, bugs the size of SUVs and our favourite villain of all time, Drake. I've honestly gotten used to the theme of these books, heart-stopping action, heart breaking angst, but Mr. Grant managed to give us, readers a tiny sliver of light at the end of the tunnel (you're going to have to read it to figure it out!).

I was really hoping that we would be given more glimpses of life outside the walls but none of that happened here. I loved the new characters that were introduced. Sanjit and Lana's little romance was just what we needed since Sam and Astrid seemed to be drifting apart. The evil twin came back more ambitious than ever and the only thing that I'm a little iffy about on the next book is the possibility of Caine going after Astrid since she decided to stay at Perdido Beach instead of going to the lake with Sam's crew which incidentally, now included Diana.

I can't wait to read the next instalment of this series!

Every time things are relatively settled down and peaceful inside the FAYZ, something worse happens. I enjoyed this book a lot, the bug creatures were horrific and terrifying in the best way. I loved the action scenes and the discovery of the lake, I'm really excited to see how things go after the split between Caine and Sam.

There were a few things I didn't like though. The most glaring one was Sam.He needs to stop being ridiculously angsty about not getting to have sex with Astrid. She doesn't want to, period. Whatever her reasons are, she can decide whatever she wants and you have to respect it, so stop acting like a kicked puppy about it.

There were a few more things like Astrid's character and how the book handled Petey sometimes that I find hard to put into words right now so I won't get into that.

Still, I'm looking forward to seeing what the FAYZ will throw at these kids next and how they'll deal with it.

I believe that this book is definitely not for the weak stomache. Michael Grant still ties in his action and romance but adds a twist when a plague hits the FAYS.
