I do like the story but I feel like I‘m not to invested/I don‘t care enough for the characters. The whole Dimitri-Rose-Relationship is pretty icky like it would have been kinda cute if it weren‘t for the fact that
them having sex is literally a fucking crime
.
But I‘m really excited for where this is going

4.5 stars, rounded to 4. After dwelling on my feelings for the previous two ‘Vampire Academy’ novels (and subsequently moving their ratings up from 3 stars to 4) I ploughed on with the series with a much greater appreciation than I had before, to discover that I actually really love it. The third instalment was easily the best one so far, and I absolutely adored the route the story took (even if it was slightly heartbreaking). My previous issues regarding not quite liking the narrative style and hating Adrian with a passion do remain, but overall this was one of the most enjoyable things I have read recently. Saying that, while I really wanted to rate it 5 stars, there was a niggling voice in the back of my head that wouldn’t quite allow it, so I have settled on 4, but that rating may very well change, and I am waiting impatiently for the fourth book to arrive so I can continue.

very good. the ending made me kind of sad since Rsoe was leaving lissa there at the school, while she goes off on her own to keep her promise to her love.

[re-read for my Greatest Hits Bookshelf Tour 2017]
With these first three Vampire Academy books, it's certainly a roller coaster that only goes up. This book is definitely why I love(d?) this series, because in a lot of ways, it's the pinnacle of this series, the first series: it's fun, it's got Adrian Fucking Ivashkov, Lissa and Christian are cutie little sweetie pies, and we get to experience a few blissful moments wherein we believe Dimitri might actually be dead...but all roller coasters must come down.

And so, I move on to Blood Promise, which is tied with Last Sacrifice for being most worst annoying dumb thing in a vampire series I used to love more than air which has a spinoff vampire-witch-alchemist series that I love more than air. Here we go. It can only get worse before it gets better so LET'S DO THIS.
