say hello to the newest fantasy reader on goodreads(!!)

came for Kaz, stayed for literally every other aspect of this story.

the world-building, the crew, the action, the plot, the pacing, the relationship tension… i’m obsessed.

give me a thousand more books like this and let me devour them now.

“No mourners. No funerals.”

Holy. I honestly have no idea how to articulate how good this book is. I can’t believe this has been sitting on my shelf since October unread. I may never forgive myself for depriving myself of this book. Six of Crows was a whirlwind of emotions and plot. It somehow manages to keep you equally invested in the plot as you are the characters, which is a struggle I often face with reading. It’s so filled with twists, turns, seamless world building, representation of all sorts, adventure and backstories that make you sympathetic to morally grey characters with questionable motives. Speaking of characters, holy. I somehow fell in love with not one, not two, but six (!) characters who under normal circumstances I would not like. But oh boy, Six of Crows is not normal circumstances. Honestly though, the characterization in this book was phenomenal, not only in character growth and relationships, but in showing such strong characters who have faced extreme trauma, trauma which is still something they are overcoming as they risk their life’s on the heist. This is a must read.
