putting jk rowling and female icons in the same sentence sure is interesting! but other than that really enjoyed this story would be really good film/series adaptation
This was such an amazing read. It was so real and I could really feel the character's pain and struggles. I learned A lot about OCD and I think that's really important. By learning about mental illnesses and other cultures we expand our knowlegde and are able to understand people better.
ALSO, I absolutely loved the Feminism aspect in this story. So many great lines, such good storytelling. People should really read this book, could be a big eye opener for some. 100% RECOMMEND!!!

I really enjoyed this book I found my self wizzing through it!
I think it was an accurate representation of OCD and anxiety and how a relapse can happen without knowing we’re getting worse. The book it’s self was written very cleverly to show this as I think even the reader wasn’t aware of Evie starting old habits again with them gradually getting more intense/obsessive.
Looking forward to reading Ambers story in How Hard Can Love Be

I can't comment on the realistic nature of the condition involved because I don't know enough about it but the portrayal of a 16 year old British teenager i one of the best I've read. I remember so well what it was like being that age and in similar situations, it really took me back, and I wish I had friends like Evelyn. The ending was a little bit too rose-tinted for me but other than that an enjoyable read that was still fairly light on a rather heavy topic.
I love this book so much I could cry!!!!!!! I learned, I laughed and I definitely empathized.
this book is one that describes OCD well, and should be read by every single soul that thinks OCD is just about "being a clean freak". the struggles of evie feel so real, despite herself knowing her thoughts are not logical. like many mental health conditions, evie can't seem to conquer her own thoughts and gives into them to feel better, which is a classic.
the book also briefly touches topics in feminism, and how periods are not widely discussed and shamed, when it should not be the case. part of the pink tax was also mentioned, which i really appreciated. this is a real problem around the world, and i am glad that part of it was brought up in the book
((an odd detail i would like to bring up is how "condescending" evie's parents were at the start. they presume that mental illnesses can be "controlled", and that it would "infect others" (as apparent with rose). the parents eventually accepted that this wasn't evie's fault, and that perhaps they also had a part to play to become better parents. i think this shows good character development, which is what parents should aspire to become.
because IRL (in my case personally), my parents haven't been accepting of my mental health conditions and have been downplaying it still till this day))

Huoh. Mulla on kauhean ristiriitaiset fiilikset tästä kirjasta.
Tuntui vähän oudolta, miten he puhuivat pojista about joka keskustelussa, vaikka he eivät itse halunneet puhua pojista joka keskustelussa.
Kenen mielestä toisen ihmisen pilkkaaminen on hauskaa?
Kirjasta löytyi ruusujakin;
- Kirja onnistui koukuttamaan. Pahanpäiväisesti.
- Evien OCD on kuvattu realistisella tavalla.
