Wow. I don't have words for this, except for wow.
I think this was my favourite book out of the four. The profiling, the process, the emotions?! I did not expect the plot twist(s) in the end.
I loved that Lorelai came back, I was scared that she wouldn't.

All of the Naturals, Briggs, Sterling, Judd, they all grew on me. I felt like in this book I learnt a lot about Sloane.
Overall, this was incredibly intense.

I pride myself in being able to predict where things are going in shows, movies, books. This book literally had me in the first half, thinking I’d guessed where it was going. But holy shit. NOTHING could’ve prepared me for that ending.

The best part of this series is how it keeps me guessing & on my toes. And the fact that the teens sounds like real human beings, not way too exaggerated, if a little fucked up. Very 3 dimensional characters. The plot flows real well too. Definitely one of my fav series now.

The finale. I actually postponed reading this one because I was still processing the last one. I read this in two sittings. I read chapter one on one day and the rest in another day. It’s a book that you can’t put down.

really didn’t expect that plot twist! loved the strong friendships made, but do wish that we saw a bit more of the romance, and of the other characters’ relationships too

“Sometimes, the hardest thing to be is the one who lives.”

This final volume was intense to say the least! Such a lot going on I don’t even KNOW where to start.

I did guess one of the biggest reveals and how things would work out at some point.

Laurel’s character gave me chills, the Masters had me sick to my stomach, Lorelai shook my to my core.

On the other hand we have Judd, who is so heartwarming. Sloane, the most precious; Dean, who feels everything but never shows; Lia, the cold woman with a heart of gold; Michael, the raw and vulnerable tease. And Cassie, who went through hell and back.

Honestly I really was fascinated by the way this book pictures and deals with trauma, how it sheds light on different coping mechanisms our brains set into place (from shutting down to compartimentalizing, to the development of a new persona…), the way our psyche instinctively deals with the incomprehensible.

I will miss this group of characters and I would love a spin-off of them as adults, with the Naturals program growth. Their characters’ development was great.

Only complaint would be that I wish we knew more about how the Masters first came to be, what were their “motivations” and how they managed to do all the things they did if there were only a few of them (we do get a partial answer on that aspect but it’s quite light in my opinion).

4.5 stars rounded up for GR.
