Not for me. Decent pacing and horror scenes but the character motivations made absolutely no sense to me. Why was the "sister" killing cats and collecting seaweed? The complete lack of motivations for her made the whole story feel ungrounded to me.

Meh. This makes a great OUTLINE of a story, but not as a completed story.
If this book had been longer and had bulk added, I think it'd make for a very interesting read. There's enough suspense and psychological thrill that there's a real good idea here, but I don't think this has the same weight as a novella. It's a bit of a Catch-22 situation: this would have been better as a longer book, but I can't fault it too much as it is a short read.
I don't regret this book, I would actually say to others to give it a go.
And for the people bitching about the dead cats... you picked up a horror thriller.

I liked reading this book, but I also just am not quite sure what the point of it is. I felt like the writing was good, especially the way the chapters were laid out. But overall, it just missed having a point for me.

An easy read, I wasn’t expecting so many one sentence chapters! I wish there was a little more detail toward the end and more answers. Overall definitely kept me invested throughout.

What a read!!! I spent an exhilarating couple of hours reading this novel and really enjoyed it - with the exception of the graphic animal cruelty. The suspense is so well done and I loved the actual form of the pacing in the physical book. This is a book I would return to because maybe little details would help me explain the end but I already have my theories. Not a perfect read but a really engaging one.

this was a very interesting read. i wish there was more explanation throughout the book, a lot of loose ends were left untied. the most unsettling part is the main characters killed about 30 cats :( very sad so idk how many stars id give it
