Thank you Netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

I'm so happy my friend recommended this to me. I have ADHD, & I've dealt with money shame nearly my whole life. I'm 35, & while I'm making a decent earning, I spend a lot of extra on things that aren't necessary - all to fill my dopamine brain bank. It's shameful, I feel guilty all the time, & I genuinely want help.

This book is PERFECT for someone like me! Never have I felt like someone "got it" - Ellyce understands that money is emotional, & we use it to create a sense of safety. This book is essential, relevant, & a must read if you're a millennial with money stress (let's be real, it's all of us)

I have a confession

I run a money instagram account and until yesterday I hadn’t finished a book about money in over ten years.

They were either too bro-y or just heartbreakingly depressing.

This book changed that for me. Now I’ve been following Ellyce for a while and I knew she was super smart and great at giving practical tips. But I don’t think I fully understood how smart?? She has managed to explain financial concepts so clearly and made so much room in her book for you to actually implement the ideas she is discussing. It goes so far beyond “open this account” “stop stressing”

This book is everything I’ve ever wanted to tell people about money with my own account and I am so excited to be able to point people towards this amazing resource!

I was so absolutely excited for this book but completely let down, I’m so disappointed. I’ll come back to write more in this review but I need a couple business days to process the disappointment.

This is by far one of the best personal finance books I’ve read, and I’ve read a lot of them. This is the first book I’ve read that not only gives sound money advice, but it also takes into account mental health, money trauma, and many social justice issues that affect how many people think about money. Ellyce educates the reader in a thoughtful and compassionate way and helps them learn different ways to be smarter with their money by meeting them where they’re at. I could honestly write about this book all day, but if you haven’t connected with a personal finance book yet, this is probably the one you need to read.
