Mushrooms! I could hardly believe my ears. I have to admit that I'd been praying for ages to God, the Virgin Mary, and all the saints for a jolly good old-fashioned mushroom poisoning. Not that I wanted anyone to die, but why give a girl a gift of science–of chemistry, to be precise–such as mine without giving her the opportunity to use it?

flavia de luce, you will always be famous to me. 🫶

I don't know that I'll continue with this series. I have such mixed feelings about it at this point. It's like Bradley can't decide if he's writing a spy thriller or a cozy mystery, so he just uncomfortably straddles that line and I don't think I like it. But Flavia and Dogger and Mrs. Mullet have my heart. So. Idk. 3 stars.

This might be my favorite Flavia yet (and I’ve enjoyed all the others). Truly a delight. Full of witty thoughts, sleuthing hijinks, and dynamic duos. I enjoyed the
reverse murder mystery of trying to prove someone innocent as well, it was a fresh take

So happy to be back in Bishops Lacey. Loved the story and it did explain some things from the previous books. I felt it was darker, maybe because Flavia is growing up, maybe because I haven’t read the series in a while…
