I really enjoyed the first book in this series but, unfortunately for me, it went downhill from there. (except for Dacre ❤️❤️, he is everything and the only reason this gets 3 stars)

This third installment was a real slog, so many scenes and thoughts on repeat. The FMC was a real wet rag for most of the book. Her magic training sessions were painful, and then just *pop* she suddenly had some inner epiphany (AGAIN) and could control everything? And then everyone was suddenly falling over themselves in awe of her? Sure, okay.

The prophecy and Veyrith (where apparently everybody is from) were random as heck, with basically no lead up in the previous books. It came to Verena in a dream. A DREAM. And also what's with the fairy grandmother that seems to know everything?

Dacre's father folded like a wet noodle after learning his bestie killed his wife, but from the rest of the books we had no reason to believe he really even liked her. So.... yeah.

Kai and Wren's story was like a teaser that never went anywhere. Especially Kai, why is he suddenly so involved with Verena's training after little to no real interactions with her previously? What's with all the "knowing looks" happening??

Eiran could have been interesting, but wasn't. And then he died. (also remember when he told us in book 2 that his parent's were true mates? That didn't go anywhere either)

You can’t just add all the plot into the final book… also the rules of the magic do not make sense I needed more. The random prophecy to appear out of nowhere. However Dacre was amazing and made up for a lot of the plot errors.

First off Dacre’s grandmother was the best addition to this final book. I loved her the whole time even though she had a smaller role in the story. Other than that, this book was action packed and such a good quick pace. Super easy to get hooked into and I managed to read it in a few days because I was so eager to see how this ended. Best book of the series and I loved the epilogue to wrap things up.

No crumbs and no notes. Just PERFECTION.

There are not enough stars to do this book justice. This was such a fitting ending to the series. I loved every second of this read. Daddy Dacre is back and better than ever.

THE LAST SENTENCE STILL HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD.

Thank you, Holly and Lauren, for an advanced copy!

This book was so boring. I really had to force myself to finish it. Compared to the first two books, it was a bit of a drag, Dacre is a like a different character in each of the books! I liked him in the first two but he kind of lost all personality in this one
