Rivaled Crown was a solid end to the series. I loved the audiobook narrators…easily one of my favorite parts. The duet narration across all three books was great. The romance was cute and angsty at points, though I wouldn’t call it a true enemies-to-lovers.

Book one and three were the strongest. Book two felt a little unnecessary, but I didn’t mind spending more time with the characters. Dacre is 🔥. I’m excited to see how the Stars and Shadows series compares.

The Rivaled Crown is the third instalment of the Veiled Kingdom series by Holly Renee and it is pure heavenly fire!!!!

When I say I have been waiting for this book, I’m not even kidding. It’s been on my mind since the devastating ending of book two that completely crushed me. Getting my hands on book three, the hopes of what was to come and the promised HEA, was something I was really looking forward to. However, thinking this book wouldn’t completely crush my soul was foolish. Holly has a unique way of making you truly feel for the characters in her books and become so attached and connected that you enter the world and join them on the journey they are immersed in.

Dacre is back with a vengeance in this book and he is on fire! His ‘I Will burn the world for you’ vibes are to die for. The spice is freaking spicing and the tension throughout the book is absolutely gripping. I honestly didn’t know where this book was going to go and there were so many moments that I didn’t see coming but they were so incredibly breathtaking, passionate and raw that the rollercoaster of emotions throughout sent my heart racing on more than one occasion.

Such a beautiful way to end this incredible series. Thank you so much to Holly and her team for this incredible journey. ❤️‍

I liked how the FMC stepped into her bad-assery, but I struggled at times with the descriptions of the magic. Again it was never really explained how it all works and what people have for powers? And she was feeling like all these different magics within her? Idk

Really enjoyed how this series wrapped up. This book had so much more of everything in it. More history, more plot, more character growth, more action, etc. The other books were just okay to me, but this one was good.

I wanted to like this series so bad. I was waiting for it to get better but it just never did. Verena was basically a useless panic attack this entire book - which, yeah, I probably would be too but cmon. Dacre carried this book, and the entire series if i'm being honest, on his back.
