The Rivaled Crown by Holly Renee is the kind of finale that makes you sit back in awe, completely satisfied but wishing you could experience it all again for the first time. This entire trilogy is a hidden gem—and the fact that more people aren’t talking about it is criminal.

Holly Renee wraps this story up with precision and heart. The layers of mystery and long-buried secrets unfold exactly when they should—keeping you on edge, guessing, and fully invested until the very last page. Every reveal hits with impact, and nothing feels rushed or forced. It’s the kind of plotting that feels both clever and deeply emotional.

The character growth is incredible. You watch these characters evolve through heartbreak, betrayal, and impossible choices, and it matters. Their chemistry? Off the charts. The romance is electric, but never overshadows the story—it deepens it.

If you love fantasy romance with high stakes, compelling twists, and an ending that truly delivers, this series belongs on your shelf. The Rivaled Crown is the perfect conclusion to a story that deserves so much more hype than it’s getting. 4.5⭐️ for me!

Verena swore she would never return to this palace. Never kneel before her father again. But she's been dragged back into his gilded cage, trapped beneath his rule, and bound to a fate she had tried to escape. Her body is his to break, her magic his to wield. And no matter how many nights she dreams of Dacre storming these halls, of his hands pulling her from the darkness—dreams are nothing against the greed of a king. Even if her mate comes for her, even if she is freed from her father’s grip, she's not sure there will be anything left of her to save. The kingdom is dying. The land withers beneath the weight of stolen magic, and her father’s reign will not end without bloodshed. But she's been in the dark for too long. And she wasn't made to wither, she was made to burn.

This trilogy was incredible. From beginning to end, I was addicted to every word. Holly's writing style was poetic and beautiful. The characters were detailed and relatable. I believe I loved Wren & Kai just as much as Dacre & Verena. I desperately want more from them. The connections between characters, whether it be love, friendship, loyalty, goal-oriented, evil, or even hate were believable and easily felt. Dacre & Verena were relationship goals and easily one of my favorite couples. His love for her was evident in every worshipful touch and action. If my heart wasn't tripping over itself falling in love, my pulse was through the roof with the action and adventure. I wish I could go back and read their story for the first time all over again. I highly recommend this read. This is my honest opinion, freely given.
