It took me a year and a half to finish this book. I wish there were more books that were written about the cooking life! I loved Chef’s kiss and Love & other disasters and I thought it would be just as fun but it was kind of a boring start so I put it off. The amount of books where a queer person has daddy issues and decides to push people away because of those issues is so real!

Just ok. Good premise, but the conflict was tiresome.  I'm over emotionally immature 30 somethings that can't effectively communicate

Yummy, juicy, salty, kitchen queerness. Late Bloomer vs Stone Femme. Everyone wins.

It was fine! I was really excited by the premise of this book and I think that made it feel more like it left me wanting more. If you like queer romance novels I genuinely think you’ll like this one at least a little bit.

My main issue is that the relationship just didn’t work for me. Amy was a bad boss all around and never really seemed to right that wrong. It also felt like the things that kept our main characters apart were never actually solved and the
conversation Amy had with her dad felt odd and forced. She ended up coming to conclusions that she had already come to earlier in the book and she didn’t need that conversation to get there. The Dad who screamed at her in front of his colleagues is now all of a sudden ashamed? I didn’t buy that!
I also don’t get why the book opens with the
sexual harassment issue, that didn’t serve the plot at all. I kept thinking something would connect back to that and it didn’t which left me wondering why it happened. It was nice to see Corrine and Wes in this book but Corrine felt a little one dimensional and it didn’t add anything to their story to include them here. Jeremy was also a character who was included quite a bit but added nothing to the plot.
Again,  not a bad book but I don’t think I’ll ever think about it again. Jeremy and Corrine’s story was done better so I will read at least one more from this author
