Natasha Lester has given us another exquisite story with The Riviera House.
Told during both WW2 and the current day, she weaves a heartbreaking, beautiful story of love and loss - not just of the human kind.
Told by Eliane in WW2 and Remy in the current day, their lives interweave in ways that no one would have expected back in the 1940s, and the heartbreak of back then is still alive today.
Ms Lester always does so much research into her stories, and as I am reading along, I am Googling the things she is telling us about. It is like homework, but with things that I really am interested in.
My heart hurt as the story moves along, but the last chapter or so really brought on the tears.
There were a few twists and turns that surprised me along the way.
I was swept away with this story, and you will be too;

I am a sucker for historical fiction! I pushed through this book, the beginning was very slow. I am glad I stuck with it as it got better.

Absolutely incredible story set around the Nazis stealing priceless artworks. I sat up until the early hours of the morning devouring this book. I shed tears both happy and sad, I've read all of Natasha's books so far and this has been her best.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars on Goodreads, I 100% would. Natasha Lester has again delivered an amazing dual-timeline book. This book took me on a whirlwind of emotions, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Unlike with her other books, I had a bit of a harder time deciphering who Remy (the main character in the present-day timeline) would end up with, and I was happily surprised in the end. Elaine's story broke my heart, but I was happy where her story ended. I feel in love with The Riviera House and I feel like I am truly changed by it. Natasha Lester's books have amazing stories, characters, and interweave beautifully. The Riviera House illustrates this amazingly.
Loved the first half. Second half was a bit boring and devolved into something really cheesy.
