I would give this book five stars because it is honestly one of my favorites. I love Meg Cabot a lot and this is one of my favorite books written by her. I personally really enjoy reading about watching things that talk about and focus on Arthurian Legend. I have noticed a lot of people's review talk about how superficial and young this book is,how girls shouldn't fall in love so soon and the plot line it thin or non existent. First of all this is a YA Novel for a reason. Second of all you don't really have to take this book 100% seriously word for word. This book is a lighthearted, funny book with very lovable characters. For one thing I love this book because I'm a sucker for any type of romance novels. Again don't read this book if you can't handle the sappy stuff or if YA is too young for you.
I really liked this book.... I thought the characters were great and the story was fun. The disney chanell movie they did of this did not do the book justice at all!
I am obsessed with Arthurian literature and this was a refreshing modern-day adaptation.

As most of my readers know, I am a HUGE Arthurian Legend buff. I read it all, or well as much as I can. I actually thought that Arthurian Legend set to a high school would be an excellent idea, looks like Ms. Cabot beat me to it. This book was pretty good. The plot kept an excellent pace and the explanation of the characters coming back was believable enough. The only thing that made me give this book 4/5 was because the Elaine went off on a lot of tangents randomly. I guess I did the same thing when I was a teen, but in a book it was distracting. Everything else was awesome, and I figured out who Elaine was early, I felt pretty smart for figuring it out.

I have read this book before and I remembered loving it, but I was truly unprepared for how much I really really enjoyed it. Some of the Meg Cabot books I enjoyed as a teen didn’t live up as an adult, but this one still did. The pacing of the book did feel a little off to me, with the first 180 pages almost being a medium pace while the last hundred carry most of the flashy parts of the story and it gets high stakes and fast paced quickly.
