An interesting adaptation of an Arthurian legend.

Really a lot of fun. Admittedly, tons of fluff, but if you love the Arthurian legend or are familiar with "The Lady of Shalott," you will definitely enjoy this book. I know I did! I would highly recommend reading "The Lady of Shalott" prior to reading Avalon High, just so you can chuckle to yourself when they reference the poem. Brilliant weaving of the modern day and the Medieval literature.

My high school self was completely over the moon with this book!

I'm a fan of most of Meg's work, but this one didn't really catch me until the second read through. I've always loved Arthurian tales and this is no exception. Some of the Arthurian legend was changed a bit to fit the story line better.

The King Arthur legend takes on a new twist as familiar characters find themselves reborn into the modern world.

Elaine Harrison, the daughter of two professors of Medieval history, is unhappy when her parents move to a new city while on sabbatical. They are busy writing books and she is forced to spend a year as the new girl in an unfamiliar high school.

She feels inexplicably drawn to the star quarterback, A. William Wagner, and is soon drawn into mystery and romance. Can she help Will realize who he really is in time to save him--and the world?

If we are going off of the nostalgic factor I loved this book, but if we're looking at everything else?? Not so much. It's obviously dated.

Not the best Meg Cabot, but still Meg Cabot, so you know I'll read it!

The first third of this book bothered me. The voice of the main character truly grated on my nerves, but so many people whose opinions I admired had rated the book highly, I decided to press on. After all, I was likely far from the book's intended audience.

Glad I stuck around. The concept of Camelot reborn developed nicely, and even though I never quite warmed up to Elaine's narrative voice, the story ended very well.

I love stories that end well.

A good read overall with an extra star for the great ending.

This was completely absurd. The main character knew the entire set up was absurd, and said as much, but inexplicably went along with it anyway without any reason for her change of heart. Meg Cabot has plenty of great books, but this one is not worth your time.

Not quite as good as the movie's storyline, but Will is still a heartthrob. Will definitely read again.
