Avalon High by Meg Cabot
Genre: YA, fantasy, romance
-
Avalon High follows Ellie, a newcomer in town along with her professor parents who are obsessed with King Arthur. When Ellie starts to get to know her fellow classmates at her new high school, she starts to see some strange similarities between them and the characters of the story of King Arthur. Is this just a coincidence, or does this have some bigger meaning?

KEY POINTS:
* read this book when I was younger and wanted to revisit the story - still love it just as much now as I did when I was younger
* great atmosphere
* keeps your attention
* cool information about the legend of King Arthur
* you may have seen the Disney adaptation of Avalon High, the book is 10000 times better in my opinion!
* cliche characters, but it's entertaining and comforting
* low maintenance - you don't have to be concentrating every second to understand the direction of the story
* shows that you can love someone but not want to be with them anymore, and to go around it with maturity and not toxic revenge actions
* aged really well - was written in 2005, but still feels relevant to today

Admittedly, this book isn’t the most sophisticated and advanced book you’ll ever read, but nevertheless, I had a really great time reading it and found it entertaining, and that’s what I consider a good book. If it can entertain me and keep my attention, I don’t care if it’s not a literary masterpiece. And that’s why I gave the book a 3.5 stars. It’s definitely a strong 3 stars in my opinion, but I felt a bit mean only giving it three so I bumped it up at to 3.5, purely because I have an emotional attachment to it!

Great young adult book. I wish it was the first of a series. I want to see what happens to them next!
-Rated a 4.5-
I read this awhile back, but I remember really liking it. It's an easy read, a chick-lit with a little fantasy twist. I think Meg did a great job joining the two, and it was a cute story.
Really liked this one.
