I always heard about the Phantom of the Opera, and bought it during my “paranormal romance” phase, thinking it was about an actual ghost. Yet, even when I found out it wasn’t, the story had already caught me. Leroux tells us how he found testimony and evidence to prove that the Phantom was real, and the descriptions done are sublime but not heavy. I would read it again, and I totally recommend it.

I was a little disappointed with this original story. Must say that Andrew Lloyd Webber turned it into a masterpiece!
