Dieser Hass gegen die Gesellschaft wegen der fehlenden Hilfen für Leute die „richtig tief in der Scheiße stecken“ und die damit verbundene Hilflosigkeit Christianes und ihrer Familie wird so deutlich, dass es schmerzt. Diese Resignation das Gefühl zu haben, egal wie laut man schreit, niemand hört einen richtig, die fesselnden Beschreibungen der Menschen und damit der Gesellschaft um sie herum zeigt nochmal dieses riesige Problem in Westberlin in der 1970/80 auf.
Durch die klare und genauen Beschreibungen der grotesken Situationen wirkt das Werk wie eine gehörige Ohrfeige die sich gewaschen hat.
Nach wie vor ist „Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo“ eine Reliquie der Zeit die die Grundlage für den heutigen Umgang mit Drogen und ihrem Konsum gelegt hat und von daher sehr wichtig um teilweise Drogenabhängige zu verstehen. Allerdings ist dies ein Einzelfall und man kann sich meiner Meinung nach nicht nur auf abschreckende Erlebnisberichte stützen wenn man Menschen vom Drogenkonsum abhalten will. Ein ausreichendes Support System fehlt, welches Menschen in ihren dunkelsten Zeiten zeigt, dass es andere Auswege als diese Drogensucht gibt.
