After a few heavier reads, I was looking forward to something fun and light-hearted with "The Fake Boyfriend Fiasco", but it didn’t quite hit the mark for me. Despite the promising setup of a classic fake dating scenario, I found myself bored and unamused with the story. The plot felt a bit predictable, and the characters didn't grab my attention as much as I hoped. Plus, the unexpected spiciness was a surprise that I wasn’t quite prepared for! 😂

I do enjoy Talia Hibbert’s writing, and I’m still committed to finishing the Brown Sisters series, but I think I might take a break from her other books for now. Sometimes, even with a author whose work I've enjoyed before, not every book is going to be a perfect fit.

The fake dating plot is fun and smutty, even though both of the main characters have to deal with their own insecurities during it. The FMC has had some real dark stuff happen to her in the past, and she is still dealing with the aftereffects. Be sure to check the author's content warnings before reading. That being said, I think the remaining trauma was treated respectfully in the book, offering small insights in how traumatic events may show long term effects in an individual's life.

This is my absolute favorite Talia Hibbert book and I have read quite a few so far!

It has everything I have come to expect from her romantic comedies: zany adventures, dreamy MCs, delicious spice, and emotional depth, but something about this one felt extra special. I loved watching these two idiots with undeniable chemistry fall in love, even if they did frustrate me endlessly. The ending felt really well earned and was very satisfying.

If you want to laugh out loud and swoon and pull out your hair all in the same chapter, then read this book!!

What an adventure. Aria is such a unique and beautiful woman inside and out. She loves so hard and so easily. Nik is such a wonderful, sweet kindhearted, gorgeous man, who is utterly taken by Aria. This story was so fun. He falls first, fast and hard. I absolutely love the respect he gives her. Their chemistry is outstanding, the energy and passion is hot. I love the friendships, & the shenanigans.

Slow start, insta-love, and no plot outside the romance but still… you can really, truly, FEEL how much the characters like each other. That seems basic but is missing from so many so-called romances and makes this one a light but nice read.
