I only finished this book because I spent an Audible credit on it, and I did so by listening to it on 2x speed. Elin was an insufferable main character. The plot twists do not follow logically--I understand not wanting to be predictable, but the author made it way too complex for it to be enjoyable. And the resolution of the subplot about Elin's past was so disappointing.

I read a quarter of the book. The creepy hotel setting is so good! The plot is not. The characters are unlikeable, unrealistic, and the premise of the book is ridiculous.

This was a gripping, heart racing, locked room mystery with an atmospheric, gothic feel. It was immersive with believable characters and a very twisty plot. At times, I felt like there were too many characters to track, but it did come together before the end.
