I loved this book, though I think it hugely benefits from my love of the AMC show.
Complex, unflinchingly awful characters. Grappling with humanity and mortality through the supernatural.
**(Potential spoilers below)**
Moments of shocking clarity (e.g. Armand and Louis' discussion of what 'evil' really is) and extreme confusion (e.g. the introduction of Claudia).
Surprised to see so many views think the book 'dragged' and was too slow-paced; I felt parts 3&4 were rushed and would have benefitted from being given more room to breathe (e.g. going from the introduction of Madeleine to what comes next in the span of about 15pages, going from the kidnap to the deaths in about 5 pages).
