I was aware of the difference between the books and show but actually reading about a slave owner (as a black person) was worse than i thought. Also the drawn out conversations are a main aspect of the writing and at times there seemed to be no real point to the conversation. Idk I wasnt feeling it and was more excited to read anything else.
