Forgiveness and it leading to peace of mind is a difficult thing to understand.  But Hook’s ability to connect everything back to love is truly phenomenal. As a wise philosopher from South Korea said, and indeed, I quote the words of Kim Namjoon — “I live so I love”.
I surely wish to re-read this book future with more newly experience and intellect. Even though somethings are difficult to understand, if you are aware of the topics discussed, it’s like this book words in your mind, whatever you got, if similar, can be referred to in a form through this book.
(i have to watch a video essays such as is love a societal constructs and read an article like crush by larissa pham so i am on it 🫡)

l thought this book was a bit outdated. While well-intentioned, it was very negatively charged. As it was published in 2000, I can acknowledge that times have changed. It was also much more religious than I wished, having one of the main themes be about the biblical story of Jacob. This book may have been great for someone else at a different point in their life, however, I felt that as a fairly happy woman in her 20s who knows how to love and who feels blessed with different forms of love, it wasn’t as powerful to me.
